Charlotte, N.C., – This holiday season Pionear Recruiting teamed up with the Ally Building and Second Harvest Food Bank in an effort to give back to those in need in the Charlotte Metropolitan area. All week the employees in Pionear’s Charlotte office collected donations in the form of canned goods, peanut butter, mac and cheese, and miscellaneous non-food items. To wrap up the week several employees even attended a backpack stuffing event held in the lobby of the Ally building. “It was great to see so many different companies come out and support such a great cause this holiday season”, said Meaghan Shughrue, an HR Analyst at Pionear, “Here at Pionear we believe that it is just as important to give back to others in the community as it is to give thanks for the things we have.”
“Being able to give back to our neighbors who are less fortunate is a feeling that is unexplainable”, explained Andrew Thompson, a Senior Recruiter at Pionear, “We are truly thankful that we are able to work with such a tremendous organization year after year.”
Supplying a network of almost 650 non-profit agencies in 19 counties with food and other essential grocery products, Second Harvest Food Bank is the largest hunger relief charity in the Metrolina area. 18.4% of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina’s service area population lives in poverty and almost 221,000 of those are children and seniors.
